Property Maintenance

Most property maintenance jobs are not one job. They are a lawn that needs cutting, a hedge that has got away, a bed that needs edging, and a path and driveway where the leaves and clippings have built up. Handled separately that means several trades, several quotes and several visits; handled as one visit it is a crew, one message, and the outside of the property done at the same time.

That is the whole idea behind the name. The work is ordinary residential outdoor upkeep — the mowing, trimming, bed work and clearing that a section needs to stay presentable — organised so a property owner makes one decision instead of five. If it is outside and it needs doing, it is the sort of work that gets bundled.

Clearing is the part that gets skipped and then noticed. Leaves and clippings in gutters and down-spouts, debris along fences and under hedges, and green waste piling up where a bin will not go are the things that make a property look neglected even when the lawn is freshly cut. Clearing them is part of the job, not an extra.

It also works the other way. A tidy yard is the first thing a prospective buyer, a tenant or a renter notices, and keeping on top of the outside of a property is the cheapest way to look after a place without doing anything dramatic to it. Getting ahead of the work beats reacting to it.

Because the work covers the whole exterior, it is worth sending the whole picture. A couple of photos and the suburb is enough to work out what the property needs and how it should be prioritised, and whether a regular visit schedule would be a better fit than one-offs.
